EASA PART-66 Basic Training Program Category A – Line Maintenance Certifying Mechanic
Subcategory A1: Aeroplanes Turbine, with dual certification (EASA & GCAA).
Category A authorization entitles the holder to issue a Certificate of Release to Service after performing simple scheduled maintenance tasks on aircraft and rectifying simple defects within the scope of the authorization.
The issuance of a Certificate of Release to Service is strictly limited to tasks that have been personally performed by the authorization holder.
Training type - full time.
Training language - English.
Training disciplines consist 12 modules.
The program includes theoretical and practical training in accordance with EASA and GCAA requirements, a stipend, aviation English training, and a one-year internship after completion of the studies.
Upon successful completion of the program, the student receives a Certificate of Recognition and a Diploma issued by the EASA Part-147 and GCAA CAR-147 Training Organizations.
Riga Aviation School acts as the managing and recruiting organization and also provides internship placement and additional aviation English training.
ANVA EASA Part-147 and Amikon GCAA CAR-147 act as the training organizations delivering the program.

Subcategory B1.1: Aeroplanes Turbine, with dual certification (EASA & GCAA).
Category B1 authorization entitles the holder to issue Certificates of Release to Service after maintenance work, including work on: the airframes; the engines; mechanical and electrical systems. Category B1 authorization includes the replacement of quickly replaceable avionic units for which a simple check (usually on board) is required to verify their integrity for further operation.
Category B1 authorization automatically entitles the holder to issues Category A Certificates of Release to Service.
